Stephen’s background is in the electronic media where has worked for more than 30 years – starting out as an announcer in Newcastle he has had a variety of sales and management roles in multiple markets including Townsville, Melbourne, Canberra, Auckland and finally in Sydney as General Manager of 2WS (or WSFM as its now known). In 2002 he joined NRS Media a specialist sales training company and has travelled the world working with radio, television and newspaper advertising teams and presenting “how to advertise effectively” workshops for local businesses. He rose through the ranks and was appointed General Manager Australia/New Zealand in 2008. Stephen started his own media consultancy Your Sales Solutions in 2009. The company works with media groups to help them grow their advertising revenue. His clients are in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya and India and include many well-known brands such as Fairfax Media, Nine Network, Times of India Group and News Corporation. He also works with several community radio stations including Christian broadcaster Hope Media Group. Over the past few years he has conducted numerous CMTO on-site training sessions and spoken at the CBAA National Conferences where his ‘real world’ advice on maximising sponsorship opportunities has been highly acclaimed. Stephen is also an author, regular blogger on media websites and public speaker.
