Dr Cait McMahon OAM, MAPS

About this Speaker

Cait McMahon OAM is a specialist trauma in the media psychologist and a world-renowned speaker on trauma and news gathering. McMahon completed one of the world’s first studies on journalists and trauma in 1993 and her PhD was on Australian journalists, examining post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth. McMahon is the founding Managing Director of Dart Centre Asia Pacific (part of the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University’s graduate school of journalism). In 2016 Dr. McMahon was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to journalists’ mental health and wellbeing.
